Temporary Builder's Supply in Grafton
Safe, compliant site power from the first day of the build.

A construction site needs power from day one, and it needs to be proper power — not a lead run from the neighbour's laundry. A temporary builder's supply is a compliant, RCD-protected, weatherproof supply installed by a Level 2 ASP and lodged with Essential Energy. We install them, and we do the permanent connection at the end of the build too.

Why site power has to be done properly
Construction sites are among the higher-risk environments for electric shock. Wet ground, metal everywhere, tools dragged across rubble, leads under traffic, and equipment being used by people who are concentrating on something else.
A compliant temporary supply addresses that. RCD protection on every outlet, weatherproof enclosures rated for the environment, outlets positioned and mounted so leads are not lying in mud or across an access route, and adequate capacity so nobody is tempted to daisy-chain leads across the site.
It is also a site safety and insurance issue. Improvised site power is exactly the kind of thing that is examined closely after an incident.
What we install
- Builder's pole or board positioned for the site layout and for vehicle access
- RCD protection on all outlets
- Adequate outlets so trades are not fighting over one point
- Weatherproof, correctly rated enclosure — it will be out in Clarence Valley weather for months
- Metering as required, coordinated with the retailer
- Correct capacity for what the site will actually draw at peak
- Lodgement with Essential Energy
Position matters more than people expect. A builder's pole in the wrong place gets in the way of a concrete truck or a crane, and moving it later means another Level 2 visit. We will walk the site with you and think about the whole build sequence rather than just today.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a temporary supply for a build?
If your site needs power before the permanent connection is live, yes — and it needs to be a compliant supply installed by a Level 2 ASP, not an improvised arrangement.
How long can a temporary supply stay in place?
For the duration of construction. It is removed when the permanent connection is energised.
Can you do both the temporary and the permanent connection?
Yes, and it is much simpler that way. One contractor owns the sequence from site establishment through to energisation.
Where should the builder's pole go?
Somewhere it will not obstruct concrete trucks, cranes or access at any stage of the build. We walk the site with you rather than putting it in the first convenient spot.
Byron Ryder and his team at Ryder Air and Electrical are straight up brilliant. I have had two jobs done by Byron, and both were carried out perfectly. Our farm is 35km out of Grafton and Byron didn't have any problem both times in sorting it out for us.
A wonderful job installing my air conditioner. Left the site spotless and clean, would highly recommend. A very friendly manner and easy to talk to while also being professional.
Provided me an onsite quote and was able to do the work in a timely manner. Cleaned up the work site and did a very clean install on a split system for me. I will be using and recommending in the future.
